Dalaran had its wonders and certainly she enjoyed the classy dates Raoul took her on. But when Juma led her by the hand into the orchard to show her where he wanted to take her on their date, Amavia felt faint.

Sometimes simple had more appeal than diamonds and fine dining. She was, after all, a Westfall girl at heart.

A shower of paper hearts emptied from the trinket box. Had the nervous boy cut them all out by hand? Amavia smiled and stuck one to her fingertip before she pressed it to Jeffrey’s cheek.

He’d given it to her so she’d always know she held his heart. A sweet gesture but Amavia had known that for ages.

Little reminders earned him plenty of thank you kisses though.
